Blood drives and the fire department have been a real passion of mine since I was a young girl. In part, that was due to all I saw and learned while my dad was a volunteer fireman. As a member of the Mormon church, Ive learned so much about the importance of service to others. There may be occasions when all you can offer is time and love. Money is simply a tool that can reach farther away than where you are now. I decided to look in and see what the local food pantry was like. Frisco Family Services set it up just within the last year or two, and the church has always encouraged donations. Im still amazed at just how much those occasional extra items are distributed. The food given locally allows major distribution centers, like the one in the video, to take food where its most needed. Dallas has a Bishops warehouse, so FFS hopefully eases the demand from Frisco. Right now I can spend an extra $10-15 on my groceries to help. Will you help your local pantry in case you ever need it?
