Job Description In accordance with the established mission, policies and procedures of The Popcorn Factory and/or specific instructions from the Director of Operations, the Supervisor of Quality Assurance is responsible for ensuring the company complies with all federal, state, and company mandated regulations with regards to the manufacturing process and finished product in the manufacturing plant. • Supervise Quality Assurance staff • FDA, GMP, and SQF compliance throughout company • Implementation of yearly inspection plan • Implementation of SQF program • Routine auditing of Kosher compliance • Labeling: •Supervision of all nutritional information requirements • Supervision of labeling and compliance clerical functions • Identify and correct labeling non-compliant issues for all areas of the business • Supervision and maintenance of Certificate of Analysis program for ingredients • Supervision and maintenance of Certificate of Guarantee program for suppliers • Supervision and maintenance of HACCP program including all documentation of lot numbers, inbound and outbound inspections, cleaning, cooler temperatures, weights, packaging seal tests, etc. • Supervision and maintenance of product and environmental microbiological testing program. • Assist with ingredient testing • Supervision and maintenance of recipe file in conjunctions with the Manager of Quality Assurance and Production Managers • Supervision and maintenance of receiving policy with regards to QA • Supervision and maintenance of pest control services • Supervision and maintenance of recall program • Provide Training for seasonal and new QC employees • Assist in GMP and HACCP training for all TPF employees • Ingredient specification maintenance • Meet budget expectations • Cover absences of other QC personnel • Other duties as assigned Qualifications Excellent communication skills are key to this position. Must be able to assess production practices, provide recommendations to QA and Operations management, and work with government and other agencies to ensure compliance. Must keep current on issues regarding food safety and SQF (GFSI). Must possess the ability to supervise staff to enforce safety and GMP rules. •High School Diploma (required) •BS Degree in Food Science, Quality Control or Business (strongly preferred) •1-3 years previous food industry experience (strongly preferred) •2+ years supervisory experience (strongly preferred) •SQF (GFSI) experience (strongly preferred) •Advanced computer skills and strong written communication skills (required) Additional Information SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS M-F: 7am- 3:30pm. Additional hours including weekends may be required during peak seasons.
