Bloom Where You’re Planted? “Bloom where you’re planted” - TopicsExpress

Bloom Where You’re Planted? “Bloom where you’re planted” is a cute saying that we’ve all heard…but what does the Bible tell us to do? You cannot bear fruit from fruitless ground. It is nearly impossible to bloom on fallow ground. It is suffocating trying to bloom amongst the thorns, and our roots are weak when we try to bloom amongst the rocks. The Bible doesn’t tell us to bloom where we are planted, but to exercise godliness with contentment as we set about plowing our fallow ground to make it fertile again. You may not be able to change your current circumstances, but you can change your heart attitude within them. You may not be able to change your trials and tribulations, but you can release the Lord’s victory in them. “A merry soul doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.” Pro 17:22 KJV Although the Lord certainly tells us to “Be still and know that I am God,” it is a soul-stillness and peace that He encourages. The body is meant to be active, and the Lord constantly trims the branches in our lives which do not bear fruit. He is our great husbandman…the Keeper of the vineyards of our lives. “And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.” Luk 13:9 KJV “Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.” Joh 15:2 KJV The seeds God plants in us must be in the fertile soil of a grateful, receptive, and thankful heart. Two men can plow the same field, and one with a grateful, patient heart, lovingly abiding with Christ…and the other with a bitter, resentful heart. The same action can produce two types of soil and fruit in the hearts of mankind. Keep in mind: the Lord produces fruit; we can only bear it. In the end, both men may bear a type of fruit, but only one will bear eternal fruit and be truly blessed. What is the fallow ground in your life? What is it that needs to be plowed up and refreshed? Are there fruitless relationships that need to be trimmed out of your life? What is the one thing that is keeping you from bearing much fruit for the Lord? He is ready to trim that fruitless branch off of you, and start anew in the fertile soil of your grateful and receptive heart. “For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth.” Heb 12:6 KJV Chastening is simply straightening, in the way that a botanist would shape a tree. Let God shape you. Let Him trim your branches. Let Him create a vessel unto great glory that bears much fruit in Christ Jesus… It’s time…not to bloom where you’re planted…but to produce the fertile heart-attitude from which blooms cannot resist bursting forth in splendid glory.
