Blue Marlin at sea - July 2nd, 2014 After a 7 years in the yard, the 1937 C&N Int. 12-Metre Blue Marlin has set sail again. The project was led by Allan Savolainen, one of the finest boatbuilders I ever met and the result shows ! Blue Marlin has set sail for Hanko (Finland) and will then cruise to Stockholm. She will return to Kotka for the completion of the interior and a finishing touch to details. It was a great privilege to be close to this project, my company proudly supplied the Sitka spruce for the spars, the mahogany for the hull planking, the South American Cedar for the interior, Teak for the deck, Billinga for the wood keel, Locust for the clamps and blocks and Elm for the frames. All in all probably 90+% of all wood used for this exceptional project. Thank you Henrik, Kiitos Allan for the chance to work with you.
