Blue Ridge Families, Here is a quick CFAY update. ***** RAIN/SNOW/GALE WINDS ADVISORY UPDATE ***** COMFLEACT Yokosuka has issued a rain/snow/gale winds advisory for Yokosuka, Yokohama, and Zushi areas for 14-15 FEB 2014. Please exercise caution while driving, and plan for inclement weather during outdoor activities as appropriate. While there is no accumulation on Main Base, elsewhere in the area there are train delays and road restrictions in progress. The Base will remain open. Some services (NEX / Commissary / MWR) will begin closing between noon and 1400 at managers discretion. Main base clubs will try to remain open in support of those with Valentines Day plans. Yokosuka/Yokohama toll road: chains are required. Keikyu/JR train lines: Experiencing delays. Narita shuttle: Status posted at PSD CDC and School Age Care Programs will be open until 1500 - but parents are encouraged to pick up children early if they are released from work early Base shuttles will continue to operate as long as it is safe to do so. Routes may be modified. Emergency Operation Center is manned: 243-1714 / 046-816-1714 taking updates on service status, power outages, and weather updates. High Winds are expected peaking at 30-35 kts with gusts up to 50 kts. Please secure loose outdoor items / furniture, and dress appropriately for significant wind-chill if you plan to be outside.
