Bocas Day 4: The alarm goes off, its 7am...but in Bocas, whos timing!? So we cuddle:) 9am We jump on a water taxi and head to a lagoon to watch the baby dolphins do flips in their natural environment! Next stop is a restaurant South of the equator in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. It stands alone, surrounded by mangroves. Looking off the multiple decks, the water is crystal clear. We can see the starfish, lobster, red snapper, trout, barracuda, stick fish, parrot fish (uhu), and multiple tropical reef fish; I think we even saw Nemo! Mel ordered the seafood mix and I ordered lobster. While they prepared the lunches, we sailed over to another island where we hiked a jungle! Mel left his slippers on the boat, so he went barefoot once again! Im convinced that the native in him has come out to play! We found a little spot where the trees had fallen into the ocean, then somehow found a way to grow there, providing a playground for the fish and coral! While snorkeling, i spotted a giant conch shell, then another, and another! It was a treasure trove of giant conch shells!!!! My fearless diver was going deep to collect each one as i pointed them out! But in the process, he stepped on a sea urchin, and just missed the harpoon of a 5 foot sting ray resting at the bottom of the ocean floor! Then, as we walked back, Mel tried to wrestle a wild snake! Ok, it was only about a three feet long, and skinny but Yikes! After an amazing lunch, Mel found himself in the outhouse with yet another snake, a bigger and more aggressive type that was about 6 feet long.....no, not what your thinking, I said feet not inches! It was a python! Lol Now Im sitting here on our deck writing a little story while Mel is cooking us a special dinner. He stopped at 4 different markets to find the native ingredients for a delicious soup. My lovely man, on our lovely Panamanian vacation :)
