Boko Haram: 13 killed, over 20,000 flee to Cameroun Deputy Governor of Borno state, Alhaji Zannah Umar Mustapha has called on Nigerians who fled to Cameroon for fear of being arrested by the military to come back to their homes as government was making necessary arrangement for their safety. The Deputy Governor, who was at the border towns between Nigeria and Cameroon on Tuesday to plead with those who fled the town to return, assured that, no soldier would come to arrest them in their houses. We gathered that, following the breakdown of law and order in Bama and Gwoza local governments as a result of the activities of Boko Haram, the people of Ngoshe and Ashigashiya town of Gwoza local government fled to Cameroon, alleging that 13 of their kinsmen have been killed by security operatives in the state. A member of the Borno state House of Assembly from the local government, Ahmed Jaha also informed the Deputy Governor on what they were able to do to convince the people to stay behind, but all efforts proved abortive as over 20,000 people have been declared international refugees, who are presently in a camp, at Ashigashiya, Jibrili and Barrawa.
