Bolts Of Wisdom PRESS ON, DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED BY YOUR ADVESARIES/OPPOSITION On Wednesday 10th July 2013 in our evening service (6:30pm to 8:00pm), I preached Part 2 in the on-going series More Than Conquerors, make a plan to be there this week on 17th July 2013. What a joy to see so many people hungry to hear more of the truth contained in God’s Word. You can post your views on what you think you will receive or what you have experienced so far in this series at yookos/community/higherdimensionswithpastorandrew/blog/2013/07/11/more-than-conquerors-new-wednesday-series-with-pastor-andrew 1Corinthians 16:8-9 I will remain in Ephesus [however] until Pentecost, For a wide door of opportunity for effectual [service] has opened to me there [there, a great and promising one], and [there are] many adversaries. (Amplified Bible) The Apostle Paul makes it clear that there is a great opportunity that has been made available for Him to preach the Word of God in Ephesus. He makes it clear that a door has opened for him in Ephesus. He also makes it clear that the great opportunity is in the midst of not one but many adversaries. Adversaries are strong opponents of everything that you do. They are people with a proven pedigree to strongly resist, be contrary or be opposite to all that you stand for. Adversaries have absolutely no friendship or kindness towards you. These people are specialists in trying to bring your downfall. They are wicked people who are devious enough to even lie and make false accusations against you in their quest to ensure you make no progress. Paul is making a declaration that he is going to walk through that door and fully utilise the opportunity given to him regardless of the adversaries in Ephesus. Acts 19:20 Thus the Word of the Lord [concerning the attainment through Christ of eternal salvation in the kingdom of God] grew and spread and intensified, prevailing mightily. (Amplified Bible) Acts 19:20 makes it clear that the Word of God grew, intensified and prevailed at Ephesus (Acts 19:1) as Paul was ministering in that place. To grow means the sphere of influence of the Word increased and touched more and more people. To intensify means the power/anointing and passion upon the Word increased. To prevail means to 1. Be larger in number, quantity, power, status or importance 2. Be valid, applicable, or true 3. Continue to exist 4. Prove superior 5. Use persuasion successfully. The Word of God prevailed in Ephesus because Paul had used the great opportunity God gave him to preach the Word in Ephesus and prevailed. Paul’s adversaries failed to stop him from successfully accomplishing the mission God gave him in Ephesus. In Ephesus (Acts 19:1-41) Paul preached, great miracles took place including people being healed by handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched his body (Acts 19:11-13); those in divination, astrology, magic, etc stopped these evil practises and publicly burned their books (Acts 19:18-19); businesses that thrived on selling objects of idolatry and delving in idol worship went broke and became fierce opponents of Paul (Acts 19:23-41) but the Word prevailed. Paul prevailed. Paul grew in stature and proved superior to his adversaries. In fact you measure a man or woman’s worth by the quality of their adversaries. The higher God takes you, the stronger the intensity and quality of your opponents; the bigger the testimonies you will manifest in your life. In this month of victories you are simply unstoppable in Christ. Please post your testimonies and expectations for this month at yookos/community/higherdimensionswithpastorandrew/blog/2013/07/10/you-cannot-be-stopped If this devotional has blessed you, please pass it on and also email us your feedback to [email protected] To subscribe to receive the Bolts of Wisdom daily devotional click here God bless you.
