Bonjour de Paris 35 My glasses broke. Quelle surprise! I guess it was just a matter of time before the glasses Ive had for 6 years chose to die on this trip. Its only the little pin that fell out of one of the arms and got lost among the rugs, so its not a giant catastrophe. I looked at all the other glasses Mom has here, to see if I could find another pin and replace the lost one. Twelve pairs of glasses. Thats how many she has. Weeks ago I brought 5 pairs to the hospital but only one out of the 5 were still good for Moms eyes. So heres a radical thought, donate the ones you cant use to a homeless shelter, or get the glass part replaced or hey, THROW THEM AWAY THE WORLD OF EYES WILL NOT END. I know I saw a repair kit somewhere in here but like the 1970s game show, Concentration, I cant remember where I saw it so I lose a turn and dont win the washer-dryer. Wherever it is, there are probably 3 just like it. I also found 3 bottles of Nivea Q-10 body lotion. At $10.00 a bottle, Mom insisted on buying them the last time she saw them in LA. Over two years ago. They have not been opened and are sitting on a bottom shelf in a tall cabinet in her bathroom, pushed way in the back, alone in the dark, crying, praying dry skin will wander by and need them. When my Dad died in 2001, I told everyone to please talk to their parents about end of life issues. Dad had talked to Lindy and me and we knew what to expect. Then he died, and we discovered hed moved the briefcase with all the pertinent information in it and we never found it. It took me 3 years to clear his estate, sell his apartments, his land, terminate all his accounts. I walked all over downtown St. Petersburg, Florida with safety deposit keys, asking receptionists if any of the keys belonged to their banks. In case anyone needs two empty cemetery plots in northern Illinois, contact me. Apparently no one is dying in that part of the state. Dad thought Lindy and I would like to be buried beside him and his third wife. Meanwhile we didnt even want to spend Thanksgiving with them. Dad is buried at Arlington. We couldnt stand her.
