Book Review Chapter 4 (The Trial)__The 1980 Coup by Goodwin Yoram Mumba. This chapter has been a long one, sometimes interesting but at other times making it a slow read. Here are some pointers from the author - The trial is heated up and price for treason is to be death by hanging - in court some people betray the cause and name all key persons involved in the plot to hoist Kaunda - they fail to put a face to Mundia Sikatana and Brig. Gen Miyanda, they only know their names. These two men were always present with the men testifying. Miyanda wore a hoody all the time covering his face but Sikatana never. But could not recognise him. -Kamuzu of Kenya is given undue praise,he used to kill his political opponents unlike Kaunda. He only detained them indefinitely -The accused had good lawyers able to find loop holes in the states argurments. Especially that Zambia was not democratic nor was UNIP. Chapter 5 looks more interesting..huh
