Bopsy the little fireman This story actually took place . She has toured the world. It reminds us that love, heart and selfless service are of this world! It does not tell us often enough such stories do exist ! In our society that primarily relates what is negative when we reflect on what goes wrong, this story reminds us that man is capable of the best and , in this sense, it takes its place on the page . Leaning on the hospital bed, the young mother of 26 years watching his child was dying of leukemia. Although her heart was filled with sadness, she was also capable of great determination. Like any parent, she wanted her child to grow up and realize their dreams. But it was no longer possible. Leukemia does not allow it. But that she still wanted her son s dreams come true. She took the childs hand and said: Bopsy , have you ever wondered what you would do when you grew up ? Have you dreamed and thought about what you would do with your life? Mom, I ve always wanted to be a fireman when I grew up . The mother smiled and said : Lets see what we can do to make your dream come true. Later that day she went to the barracks of the nearest fire where she met Fireman Bob , a man who had a heart as big as the city of Phoenix ( USA) . She told him about the dream of his son and asked him if it would be possible to take her six years for a ride in the fire truck . Fireman Bob said, Wait, we can do better than that. Arrange to have your son ready at seven oclock Wednesday morning and we will an honorary fireman for the whole day . He can come to the barracks, eat with us , we respond to all alerts and the whole nine yards ! And if you tell me what size it is , we will make him a uniform and a firemans helmet , a real helmet with the emblem of the Phoenix Fire Department on it, and it will put a yellow raincoat like ours and boots rubber . They are all made here in Phoenix , so we can get it quickly. Three days later , the fireman Good fetched Bopsy , dressed in his uniform and escorted fire from his hospital bed to the ladder truck was waiting . Bopsy sat at the back of the truck when it was time to go back and go to the garage , he helped the driver to steer the truck. He was in seventh heaven . There were three fire alarms in the city that day and Bopsy responded to three calls. He went on three different trucks in the ambulance van and even in the car of the captain. Local television was also videotaped for the evening news . Whether it was helping him achieve his dream showing him much love and attention had so deeply touched that Bopsy lived three months longer no doctor would have thought possible. One night, all vital signs declined rapidly and the head nurse , hospital faithful to the concept that no one should die alone, telephoned the family to come to the hospital. Then she remembered the day that Bopsy had spent as a fireman . So she called the captain and asked if it would be possible to have a fireman in uniform to Bopsy at the time of transition. The captain replied, We can do better than that. Well be there in five minutes. Would you do something for me ? When you hear the sirens and see the flashing lights , would you let everybody know that there is no fire ? What are the firefighters who come to visit one of them one last time ? And you could open the windows of his room? Thank you . About five minutes later, a fire truck arrived at the hospital, extended its ladder to the third floor and six firefighters , including two women climbed the ladder and entered through the open bedroom window of Bopsy . With his mothers permission , they took him in their arms and kissed him and told him how much they loved him. In his last breath , looked Bopsy the fire chief and said, Captain, I m really a fireman now? Bopsy Yes , replied the captain. With these words, Bopsy smiled and closed his eyes for the last time .
