Bore da pawb/Morning everybody – we received this last week, it looks very interesting. We were wondering if anybody out there would be interested – if you are please email or phone on the contact details below. The message is from Riddhi Bhavsar Dear Sir/Madam I am a postgraduate student of Cardiff University studying for a masters degree in Occupational Therapy. As a part of this MSc I would like to carry out a research project entitled: on ‘A qualitative study of feeding problems in children with autism: Parents’ perceptions’. This study aims to understand the feeding problems in children with autism from parent’s perspectives in order to identify: the nature of feeding difficulties, its impact on their health and well-being and the most common methods of assessments and strategies used by parents. This research will be conducted between September 2013 and February 2014. I am witting to you to ask permission to recruit 7 participants for this research from members of your organisation. I intend to recruit participants who are willing to participate voluntarily. All volunteers will be free to withdraw at any time without giving a reason. All volunteers will be sent an information sheet outlining the study and their consent will be required beforehand. The participants will be given pseudonyms to protect their identity and strict procedures around the confidentiality of information that they provide (e.g. the secure storage of research data) will be followed. This research has been reviewed and approved by Cardiff University School of Healthcare Studies Ethics Committee to ensure that, taking part in this research study will not adversely affect participants’ safety, rights, well-being and dignity. Please do not hesitate to contact me on 0745000357 or riddhibhavsar@googlemail if you need any more information. Look forward to receiving your response. Regards, Riddhi Bhavsar (MSc. Occupational Therapy)
