Born on the Caribbean isle of St. Vincent, Ambrose Hamilton (C-Koo Slim) has had an ear for music ever since he can remember. As a child he loved to compete with other like-minded friends to see who could rap best. While C-Koo Slim was always the youngest among his friends, he did not let that intimidate him. C-Koo Slim moved to Canada at the age of 14, however, you could not take the island out of him. At the youthful age of 16 he got his first break, a chance to gig on stage with more established artists in front of a huge crowd. He was beyond nervous, but as soon as he touched the mic the crowd responded and his nervousness disappeared. He had proven his talent and ability to sing, and conquered stage fright. It was at that very moment that he became determined to pursue his musical dreams. He has since opened up shows for stars such as, Beenie man, Elephant man, Capleton, Big Boi from Outkast, and Bounty killa. Although he was heavily influenced by reggae and dancehall music as a youth, he soon developed an interest in various instruments and taught himself to play the guitar. Nowadays, he often collaborates with artists of different musical backgrounds. This allows his music to bring together the sounds of piano, violin, saxophone and guitar, just to mention a few, which results in soulful melodies that will sooth the soul. He believes that every beat and song he creates, every lyric he writes, and every stage show he performs will all bring him one step closer to turning his musical dreams into a reality.
