Both lanes of the A1 on Blaydon Bridge are now open and traffic is flowing. At around 7:40am this morning (Monday, January 26) police responded to a collision involving two vehicles on the A1 Western Bypass near the Blaydon bridge turn off. As a result of the collision damage was caused to the nearside barrier and one lane was closed to allow the barrier to be repaired and made safe. Police would like to thank motorists for their patience during the lane closure.
