Both my parents taught many years in Beaumont ISD schools. I am a proud product of Beaumont ISD schools. I was a sophomore when Beaumont Central High came into existence, and was a graduate in its third graduating class. Most of my classmates at Central, like the racial makeup there today, were African-American. I was able to get along well during all my years in BISD schools and I received what I believe was an excellent education that prepared me well for a very challenging college program at one of Americas leading liberal arts universities.. The three-ring circus that is todays BISD administration sickens me to the pit of my stomach. I know things can be different. I know the educators want to be able to continue to give their students an excellent, first-rate education, and I know that many students who could benefit from such are the ones who are ultimately the losers in this whole fiasco. In my opinion, having followed the scandals of the past couple of years at BISD, several people should be doing serious prison time for the crime of robbing a whole generation of students of their future simply to satisfy their greed and to caress their massive egos.
