Both the Merriam-Webster and Oxford dictionaries (the ones the big people use) define patriot as: ...a person who vigorously supports their country and is prepared to defend it against enemies or detractors. It also defines the Patriot missile which has a range in excess of 45.5 miles and an operational altitude in excess of 76K feet. Its most remarkable attribute, however, is track-while-scan detection/ acquisition/ID/and tracking system which allows it to engage multiple targets simultaneously. As for the other definition: ...it doesnt matter how a person thinks of himself, which, by the way, is an opinion and defines nothing. I mean any delusional dickweed may REGARD himself as a patriot. I, on the other hand, would consider him to be just an ignorant bozo who can say the words (which he doesnt understand or know the meaning of) and make a fool of himself in the process. On the other hand, if he acts on what he believes of himself then he may have to contend with counter actions on the part of those who adamantly disagree with him - and the acts of those opposed would be considered patriotic within the context of the accepted definition. You see the problem with that definition. I mean its the faulty logic youd see in any middle school when all but the brightest students are discussing something. That it, this it betrays a childish .. I believe so I am. or it is, etc. attitude. Its a totally immature and ultimately meaningless way to looking at things. Meanwhile, true patriots do not wish their government to fail. Only traitors do as the definition of traitor is one who betrays anothers trust or is false to an obligation or duty & one who commits treason. The definition of treason by the way is: ...the crime of betraying ones country, esp. by attempting to kill the sovereign or overthrow the government. One of these day the t-party puke are going to take their foolishness a step too far and one can only hope they suffer greatly for their stupidity. Ill certainly do my part to see that they do.
