Both widowed. Both found love again. With a combined effort, they raised 10 children, 25 grandchildren, and 37 great grandchildren. Frances T. Mooney, lovingly called Nine Lives Mooney, Frank, Dad and Grandpop. Nine Lives Mooney served as a pilot during WW11. His plane was shot down 9 times. He always got up and walked away uninjured and ready to serve again. When Frank re-met and married my Mother-in-law 24 years ago, she became the happiest I had ever seen her. He was a loving, caring and devoted husband. Together, Frank and his bride came to support their grandchildren in all their activities ( sports, concerts, award ceremonies, and family events). And yes, with his beautiful smile and twinkling blue eyes, he loved to share his story about Nine lives Mooney! Frank was very active in his church. He was a guiding light for many of us. He was a good listener. When the call came he answered. It has been noted that he drove over 2000 miles in one year to bring people back and forth to doctors appointments, hospital visits, and grocery stores. He also helped with Meals on Wheels. When the call came that Hope Dining Hall needed a treasurer, he answered. When the call came that Hope Dining Hall needed a group to serve a Christmas Dinner, he listened and he answered. He enlisted the entire Shelton Family to serve a warm Christmas Dinner every year to everybody that needed one. This has become a wonderful family tradition for many years. And now, the final calling has come for him. He listened and he answered. We are all so sorry to say good bye. You loved us and we loved you. Thank you for all the beautiful memories. See you in the sky one day.... serving.
