Botswana coach blasts S/African club over player availability Botswana senior national soccer team coach Peter Butler on Friday lashed out at South African Premier League side Bloemfontein Celtic coach Ernst Middendorp whom he labelled as stubborn and arrogant.This followed the South African outfit’s decision to reject a request by the Botswana Football Association to have players plying their trade at the club released for national duty. Captain Joel Mogorosi and Mogogi Gabonamong were supposed to report for camp this week ahead of an important Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Guinea Bissau on Saturday. “I have called Middendorp more than enough and he won’t take my calls. At first he answered and the moment he realised it was me he just hanged up,” Butler told reporters. Butler added that the Bloemfontein Celtic gaffer “doesn’t even bother to give me reasons why he won’t release my players and that to me is being stubborn.” Middendorp is quoted as saying that he is not obliged to release players as the games do not fall within FIFA dates.
