Bottomline: (and my words for decades!) - if you really want to OWN music then get the vinyl! All that digital crap can easily be replaced by Spotify, iTunes Radio or any other streaming service. You dont need to OWN a digital file, especially not stored on CD. If you want to feel, touch, smell, see, experience music beyond the basic sound information, with cover art and gatefold sleeves in form and shape as the artist intended it to be, if you want to listen to older analogue recordings just the way the artists and producers intended them to sound, you dont have an alternative to vinyl. For everything else (parties, car, smartphone etc.) a streaming subscription can hardly be topped by buying digital music, no real point in that anymore.
