Bought a cow with a 3 month old bull calf on Friday. The lean beef at the store tastes like cardboard so I am planning to raise my own and grain feed it--as soon as I figure that process out. Getting a tasty steak is on my bucket list. Be awhile before I get meat but worth the wait. The bull calf will be getting fixed before he gets off the trailer. Cant have no bull on the property because I cant run that fast anymore. Will try to post a picture when I get one. They wont arrive here until mid January and in the mean time she is cohorting with a 1000 pound Beefaloo. Even the computer doesnt like that word. The seller told me that if I got a Beefaloo, I would get lean meat to which I replied--I only have a short time left to get my arteries clogged and I need to start working on that now. Screw that lean stuff--give me some marbling and some good old fashioned fat!
