Boy I sure miss the beach and the ocean! Miss the salt air and the ocean spray in my face! Working in the oilfield in the Gulf of Mexico was so good! So much fun running boats going to the rigs and platforms. First I worked on inland tugs pushing barges of coal in Kentucky and Louisiana. Then it was on to utility boats, crew boats, offshore supply boats and liftboats in the Gulf of Mexico! Did a diving job of off the coast of Mexico. Did private contract work for the Navy in the Atlantic Ocean and the Med Sea off of Italy. Got to see Spain, Italy and Sicily. Last but not least worked on a Tug in New York City docking ships. I would never trade my work life for any other job. The sea will always be in my blood! The safety of a calm ocean like glass to the danger of 50 mph plus winds and 40 foot waves. One day I hope to say a proper goodbye to my offshore life! Thank you God for letting me experience that!
