Brad Hunt This is how you derestrict a Honda clone engine such as found in a Baja Heat or similar. It makes a huge difference. Normally the governor will cut in @ 3600rpm. With is disconnected it will rev to 5200rpm. You then gear it so that you can only get to about 5000rpm. That keeps it in a safe zone for the engine and at the same time much faster than it was. Once youve done this you can install a CVT, which will give you a further 20-30mph. .
