Brag moment: So theres a lot of drama that seems to happen in junior high, especially when it comes to tween girls. Im proud to say that my daughter Brooke doesnt involve herself in that. She is and has always been compassionate about peoples feelings. This morning she was telling me a story of what happened between some girls at school yesterday. Apparently, some girls were not being the nicest to another girl in her grade and a rumor was spread about her...and that they were making fun of her name which is unusual. (I know that feeling all too well!) So without any hesitation Brooke walked into the computer lab, Google the meaning of her name out of curiosity. She was pleasantly surprised. It wasnt what she was told previously. Brooke sought out her saddened friend and invited her church! In our home, our expectations for our children are to be a leaders; not followers. We want them to flex their moral compass and stand up for the ones who are hurt and feel abandoned. My heart is so filled with joy for her to experience something powerful like this. Her face was lit up with excitement when she explain how it made her feel to be bold and courageous and what her name really meant. Goddess of fruitful abundance...
