Brandi asked me to update to kind of let everyone know how the weekend has gone so here I am! Jamie continues to astound everyone with his resilience. He is improving daily, getting around more, eating more, talking more, etc. A little birdie even told me that he ventured out to Lane for homemade peach ice cream last night! He continues to move very slowly and work on getting his strength back. This pesky accident is not conducive to Jamies lifestyle. He is hyper and a workhorse. He doesnt like to sit still and this has forced him to take it slow. The pain continues to be an issue and I expect it will for some time. He was excited to go to church this morning and he had asked Matt and I to save them a seat beside us today. But I got a text early this morning saying last night was rough and he didnt rest much so he was too worn out to make it. Aside from the pain in his face he has began having some pretty severe pain in his side/flank area. We all think this is likely muscle related from the accident but if it continues or doesnt subside soon that will need to be addressed just to verify there isnt anything internally going on that may have popped up since his CT scans post accident. He has an appointment with his eye doctor tomorrow morning. Many of you may not know this but Jamie suffers from macular degeneration and in addition to the poor vision this has caused he has had other issues stemming from this condition in the past. Since the accident the vision in his right eye has become very burry and naturally he is concerned. His orbital bones (bones around the eyes) are fractured as well as his other facial bones and we just need to make sure he doesnt have anything going on that may be stemming from that. Those of you who have seen him may have noticed that the whites of his eyes are red. This is because the blood vessels in his eyes burst as a result of the tremendous force the truck put on his face. So its possible that the blurry vision could be a result of blood clouding his field of vision. If this is the case his vision would improve as his body re-absorbs the blood. But better to be sure so off they go in the morning. He has recently began coughing up blood clots. This is coming from the bruising and injury to his lungs. Its most likely a sign of healing. Think a scab coming off a scraped knee! He is also still draining quite a bit of blood from his nasal/sinus area from the broken bones. This is of course gross and uncomfortable so we are hoping it stops soon. So overall an ok weekend and we just ask you continue to pray as his healing continues. As you can imagine he is over this and ready to be back to himself. And as always thanks so much. You guys rock!! ***We are looking forward to the yard sale this Saturday July 19 at Southside Baptist and from what they tell me its going to be HUGE! I hope everyone can come out and take part in that. Look for more info as the week continues.***
