Brandi writes, I have a question: My son will be 10 months old this month. Never had any vaccines. I have never had any vaccines since I was 6 years old and my mother did the research. Before my decision on not to vaccinate I was in the middle. I researched and came across this site and found people talking about a book called, The Vaccine Book. I read it and did more research on my own and made my decision to not vaccinate my son what-so-ever. Now I switched Pediatricians where I live, because my last one really didnt care or help me when I needed the help. My son is on formula due to complications that made me lose my supply. However, since being on formula hes had reflux really bad and he now sees a specialist too. Well when I switched doctors my son was a little shy of 2 months old. I told his nurse I was refusing vaccinations and I had to sign a paper stating that. Now, we had multiple check-ups due to the reflux and then the constipation. At my sons 2 month check-up I took him in and the doctor said I could dress him. I was getting ready to put him in his car seat before my doctor stopped me and said, Hes going to get his 2 month shots. I stopped and looked at him and told him I had refused any shots. His reply back was why? We sat there for over an hour arguing back and forth. He told me he would pull out the vaccine ingredients and show me they didnt contain anything I was telling him. That he wanted me to go to a third world country and see the people over there with no vaccines and dying. I stood my ground and told him that it is proven if my son is to catch any of the diseases that a vaccine protects he could fight it off. That was the only thing he did agree with me on. Before I left he told me that every time I go in for his scheduled check-ups when the vaccines are due, we will argue about it again. I havent been back to my doctor since March. I still see the specialist because my son is still having problems. My question is what kind of doctor can I find him that wont b*tch about my beliefs of not vaccinating my son? If I call another doctors office do I ask if the doctor will accept us with no vaccines? I understand I do not have to take him to a Pediatrician, but with all the problems hes had with formula, I will probably need a doctor on call.
