Bravo and Ryan Seacrest Productions - Union-Busting Earlier this month, the crew of Bravo’s successful reality TV series Shahs of Sunset formally requested that their employer recognize their right to have union representation. After receiving no response, the crew walked off the job on September 10, shutting down production and post-production on the show’s fourth season to demand a contract with health and retirement benefits. Instead of negotiating, Bravo and Ryan Seacrest Productions announced on September 26 that they were firing the show’s crew. The IATSE has filed Unfair Labor Practice charges against Bravo for this flagrant violation of the crew’s right to organize. Bravo intends to continue work on the season with scabs. We intend to make sure that doesn’t happen. Come demonstrate to Bravo and its corporate parent, NBCUniversal, that we are outraged by their illegal union-busting. Date: Thursday October 2, 2014 Time: starting 9:00 A.M. Location: 49th Street between 6th Ave and 30 Rockefeller Plaza- (closer to 6th Ave. on 49th ) Any amount of time you can spare would be appreciated. Whether or not your schedule permits you to participate in our demonstration at 30 Rock, there are also other ways to show your solidarity: Are you on Twitter? Use the link bit.ly/ShahsTweet to tell Bravo you’re #NotWatching their programming until they return folks to work under an IATSE contract! You can use the link bit.ly/TellBravo to send Bravo a message through its website. Write your own, or feel free to use this text: “I support the right to organize, and I won’t watch your programming until Bravo reverses its outrageous decision to fire the crew of ‘Shahs of Sunset’ for exercising their lawful rights! Shame on Bravo!”
