Brazil bound quintet fine tunes with friendlies Five African representative teams at this year’s summer World Cup in Brazil will fully utilize the international friendlies date this week to assess their progress as the day count drops under 100 days to the start of the tournament. Algeria, Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast and Nigeria will be in action Wednesday 5 March as the continents representatives face tests which they intend to use as stepping stones for a successful tournament. Nigerias Super Eagles face Mexico in the US city of Atlanta while Didier Drogba and Yaya Toure lead the Elephants charge against a hugely talented and highly competitive Belgian side. Samuel Etoo and the Indomitable Lions square off against the Portuguese led by World Player of the Year Christiano Ronaldo while the Black Stars – with an array of exciting talents that include Sulley Muntari, Kevin Prince Boateng and Emmanuel Agyemang Badu - take on Montenegro. Algerias Desert Foxes will be in Blida to take on Slovenia as they commence preparations for the global soccer show piece where they are pitted against Belgium, South Korea and Russia in the group stages. Africas 2014 campaign will start on 13th June with Cameroon taking on Mexico in a Group A which also has hosts Brazil and Croatia. The Elephants are next in action against Japan on the 14th June in Group C which also has Columbia and Greece. The Super Eagles get into action on the 16th June against Iran before taking on Argentina and Bosnia & Herzegovina in Group F. The Black Stars, also on 16th June, enter the competition with a date against the USA before clashes against Germany and Portugal.
