Breakdown of the Social Order If you mention the Social Order - TopicsExpress

Breakdown of the Social Order If you mention the Social Order breaking down, you will more than likely get a few odd looks and if you happen to be a self-proclaimed Patriot, many will probably assume you are referring to the overthrow of our current government. In this particular instance, that is not the case. The social order breaks down on a fairly consistent basis. And, should the discussion arise, the breakdowns occur in Every country around the world. There are a number of things that can fracture the social order. It may be during or following a war. It may be during or following a riot. It may be during or following a natural or unnatural disaster. Whatever the cause, the result is a temporarily broken social structure in which the normal boundaries and expected protections of a typical society do not apply. This is not paranoia. It is a long-standing history of occurrences. Before I go any further, here is a list of examples of events that have temporarily broken the social order. Detroit Riot 1967 Chicago Riot 1968 New York Blackout 1977 Rodney King Riots 1992 Hurricane Katrina 2005 Hurricane Irene 2011 Hurricane Sandy 2012 Alabama Tornados 2011 Missouri Tornado 2011 Oklahoma Tornados 2013 Here are just a few outside of the U.S. Haiti Earthquake 2010 England Race Riots 1981 England Riots 2011 Queensland Australia 2008 floods As I said, those above are examples. The list goes on and on. In each case, the event was catastrophic and resulted in a temporarily broken social structure. These events weren’t foreseeable and in each case innocent people were unprepared and fell victim to not only the event, but to the looting and criminal violence that occurred while the social structure was broken. In some cases, such as the tornadoes, each event was limited either in size or duration. This resulted in a smaller window of opportunity for criminals to take advantage of the situation. Looting was minimal and there was enough remaining social order to avoid more heinous crimes. But, in the case of riots and hurricanes, looting is more often than not accompanied by additional violent crimes. Whether it is a riot, a hurricane, a tornado, an earthquake, flooding, long term power outage, or any other catastrophic event, the social structure is much more easily damaged than most understand. Should you find yourself in the midst of such a situation, you will be the only defense for yourself, your family, and your belongings. The social structure will be broken, and your gun will be the only thing standing between you and the criminals.
