Breaking News: EFF The EFF condemns the character assassination of the CIC Julius Malema by courts of public opinion 3 November 2014 The Economic Freedom Fighters condemns the media reports that have circulated in the past few days alleging that the CIC, Julius Malema, pulled a gun and assaulted a security guard in Polokwane. The media reports have further claimed that a case has been opened against the CIC and police are investigating the matter. However, the CIC on the other hand has not received any communication from the police. This is in spite of the fact that the incident as reported by media remains a baseless allegation that has not been corroborated by any of the alleged persons involved. The EFF condemns this entire episode as a degenerative attempt to tannish the person and character of the CIC. The police, in collaboration with the media have ganged up in an unholy alliance to assassinate the integrity of the leader of the economic emancipation movement, fighter Julius Malema. He has been subjected to the courts of public opinion which have already ruled him guilty which is the wish of those who are intimidated by what he represents. The police should have the decency to speak about investigation in ways that respect and protect the rights and dignity of people. To take media platforms without informing the CIC that they are investigating him is, if anything, opportunistic and abuse of power, above all it is an infringement on his integrity. It must therefore be condemned with the contempt it deserves. The EFF places it on record that the CIC has not assaulted or pulled a gun on any security guard. Those who cooked this story wished to delegitimize his decisive confrontation against racism that occurred in Tzaneen. ISSUED BY THE ECONOMIC FREEDOM FIGHTERS
