**Breaking News: Nevada Supreme Court Ruling Invalidates Nevada Minimum Wage Exemptions!** Since 1965 Nevada law has allowed certain exemptions to the minimum wage requirement (NRS 608.250). Just last week, the Nevada Supreme Court issued a ruling that stemmed from a lawsuit filed on behalf of a group of taxicab drivers. In a 4-3 ruling, the Court determined that the Minimum Wage Amendment passed in 2006 supersedes the NRS by providing its own #minimumwage exemptions. PLEASE NOTE: This will have a direct impact on many Nevada employers including those that employ severely disable persons, commissioned outside salespersons, taxicab and limousine drivers, as well as casual babysitters, domestic service employees who reside in the household, and certain agricultural employees. Keep up with this ruling by visiting the Nevada Office of the Labor Commissioners website:
