July 12, 2013 Philippians 4:11 (AMP) 11 Not that I am implying that I was in any personal want, for I have learned how to be content (satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or disquieted) in whatever state I am. This is part of a letter from Paul to the believer’s and that includes you and I. Every once in a while twins are born that they label as identical. For the most part I understand that they are quite liable to both do the same things at the same times. Same likes and same dislikes. They may even fall in love with the same person. With the rest of us we are not that way. Each person is born unique or different or with their own personal characteristics. No two people are born the same except for the twins that I just mentioned. One person may clean the house from bottom to top and the other from top to bottom but it still gets cleaned. We all may have different likes and/or dislikes in our lives but that doesn’t make me right and you wrong as some like to do to others when they say something like you have to accept everything my way or the highway. Paul learned a lesson that all of us would benefit from if we could grasp it and that is that he learned to accept others as they were and also circumstances, happenings around him did not control how he felt or acted. Words from friends or relatives did not control how he felt or even their actions. We have developed a society of mimicker’s. Rather than being themselves they want to be as somebody else that they know or have seen. God made you the way you are, accept it and be happy with it. Not everybody can sing like Elvis or be a perfect mechanic or clean the house the way some can but that doesn’t mean they are any less of a good person. The Lord may lead you to write down a prayer and recite it every time you pray while others just talk to Him. I happen to be one that talks to Him just like I would talk with you but I have no right to tell you that you are wrong if you don’t do as I do.
