July 30, 2013 Romans 10:9 (NIV) 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Mark 16:16-18 (NIV) 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." In Romans the Holy Spirit spoke through Paul that if we confess with our mouth and believe in our heart that Jesus is Lord that we shall be saved. Everybody I know of believes and accepts this as being the truth. There may be some that doubt it but nevertheless it is truth. The second passage of scripture is words spoken by Jesus and they are just as true as the first ones. Jesus said that if we believe, He has given us His authority to lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. Both passages are true and yet most people will doubt the second one even though they never doubt the first one. God spoke both passages because He chose to have both in His Word, the Bible, for us to live by. God does not, cannot, lie. He is truth. He is love. God wants all people healed and He has provided ways for us to be healed. We just have to believe. Mark 5:36 (KJV) 36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.
