Brian Wiggins and I have been continuing to explore the night sky - TopicsExpress

Brian Wiggins and I have been continuing to explore the night sky in hopes of catching some structure of the Milky Way witin the light pollution belt that envelopes us here in the tri-state. Still not quite there with capture and post-processing technique but we at least hope to get that down before planning a trip to the Western states where we can really get into it. Still, some interesting stuff at night. Here are a few images from Bluegrass - all taken between about 10pm and midnight. Milky way shot is before moonrise while the others are obviously after with some fog. I have also included a link to Brians Flickr page and a short video of our Saturday night attempt at a time lapse. Hes a Facebook hold-out so I will do it for him! I am also starting to use a 4 motorized slider to add more interest to the time lapse sequences but we are just now experimenting with that. Hopefully more to come soon. We also hope to do more light painting and include more foreground objects as we find suitable locations. I will try to post a day or two ahead of time just in case anyone is interested in this type of nocturnal activity and wants to join us! Of course if you have any experience or skill in this realm, by all means join us!!! The coyotes howling at the moon are worth it....
