Brian and I know of a bloke who was in Afghanistan. EVERY member - TopicsExpress

Brian and I know of a bloke who was in Afghanistan. EVERY member of his platoon except he and another bloke had been killed there. The other bloke has recently killed himself. Our friend has seen beheadings. He has now had his Army Pension cancelled, as the Government does not believe in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. So, tell me, if you had your mates, with who you had lived, worked, trained, slept, laughed and cried with over a period of years, and you saw them killed in front of you, and you saw beheadings, do you reckon you would suffer from PTSD? How do you think you would interact socially with people around you? Would that make you unsure of getting a job? Would you be able to trust your need for friendship, given that, in the forefront of your mind, constantly, would be memories of other friendships suddenly cut off? What if the War comes here? What if my new friends die? Living life with uncertainty is not living life at all.
