Briefly stopped at the Jacob Krumm Nature area in extreme western Jasper Co. this evening. The setting sun stole most of my time, but some fun fall birding for a limited time. Sparrows abounded with 50+ White-throated, 25+ Swamp, several Field and Dark-eyed Juncos, and singles of Harriss and Clay-colored. A House Wren and a lateish Brown Thrasher also scolded me. As I marveled in a beautiful Iowa sunset, single Great Horned and Barred Owls began calling. Wonderful end to the day.
