ADHD. The fact that Ritalin is so commonly used these days shows that ADHD is an issue. I guess the argument for Ritalin is that ADHD is a genetic issue. However, the field of epigenetics shows that the expression of a gene is dependent on its environment. In essence, a stressful environment cause by poor lifestyle choices is the trigger for a destructive genes expression. When it comes to a child then, surely it is the responsibility of the parent to support and encourage a healthy lifestyle? The most obvious and controllable aspect of this would be the food you give to your child. This is a big responsibility and obviously doesnt only apply to the effect itll have on ADHD.
