British Ambassador, Hamish Cowell, and President of the Centre for the Study of Islam and Democracy (CSID), Radwan Masmoudi signed today a new funding contract. CSID have been the British Embassy’s partner since 2012 that delivered outstanding outputs that includes support to the process of drafting Tunisias new constitution. Now with funding for the next three years, CSID will continue to assemble political figures and civil society organisations to sit together during intensive workshops designed to foster the creation of a political culture capable of recognising differences and diversity of opinion and help build mutual respect. CSID will also continue working on raising awareness of the content of Tunisia’s new constitution, deliver voter participation and democracy education workshops nationwide with additional focus on targeting young people.
