Brooklyn Basin is an urban infill waterfront revitalization - TopicsExpress

Brooklyn Basin is an urban infill waterfront revitalization project along the Oakland Estuary. Fully built, it will be a new mixed-use community surrounded by 32 acres of new parks, trails, marinas, and views of San Francisco Bay and East Bay hills. Previously, the site was owned and operated by the Port of Oakland as light industrial property closed to the public. In the 2000s, Signature Development Group envisioned a sustainable, mixed-used masterplan that would not only create acres of new waterfront parks and a connection to The Bay Trail for public recreation, but also add thousands of market rate and affordable residences to a severely under-supplied market. The development is expected to generate 10,000 jobs and millions in tax revenue for the City of Oakland. Currently, Signature Development Group and Zarsion Holdings are working in tandem with the City of Oakland to remediate the property and rebuild key roads to the site. Find out more at brooklynbasin/
