Brothers United in Christ Friday Update: As the year comes to a close, we on the BUIC committee would like to thank The Lord for giving all of us the opportunity to serve and be part of what is essentially the beginning of something significant for Christians overall. The second thank you would be to you all who are the heart and soul of Brothers United in Christ.Your constant support and willingness to help does not go unnoticed and is greatly appreciated. This Fridays update is a little different to the older posts. We normally inform you of what we are doing and what we have planned etc bcs we are together in this movement as one. This one today is dedicated to you all- Mens Masses- We began less than 5 months ago with the first mens mass with over 120 boys standing side by side, in the St John The Beloved church in Mt Druitt. Two weeks later, 460 men came in the middle of the week, in pouring rain, prayed and became friends over a bite to eat afterward. The next mass saw over 600, then 1200 then at Our Lady of Lebanon i stood shoulder to shoulder with just under 2000 boys from every type of denomination, area and background. We have stood side by side in the Maronite Church, The Coptic Church, Latin Right Catholic Churches, Caldean Churches, we will kneel in the Orthodox Churches shortly God willing. We have heard great speakers address us, Community leaders, Area Command Police officers and politicians. We have crossed the floor and shook hands with brothers we have never met before and made new friends. We have employed each other, provided work for each other. We have experienced different church traditions and masses. We have given our prayers & money to the Christians of the mid east who are being persecuted and displaced. Our families have met each other and our children are now friends. We have come closer to God. This guys is 2014. 2015 is a year that will be one that builds on this and much , much more. (we have a massive surprise for you ..but thats for next year) Again, to all of you on behalf of the BUIC Committee ,thank you very much. You are the movement, this belongs to God first, then you all. We look forward to seeing as many of you guys next Wednesday at St Johns Mt Druitt to close off the year with prayer and a bite to eat afterwards. A final thank you to Mons.Shora, our Chaplain for all his guidance and work behind the scenes. He was there at the beginning is a much valued & loved part of the movement. Another thank you for our second Chaplain Father Shenouda whos enthusiasm and support is greatly appreciated and valued. God Bless-see you Wednesday.
