Brothers and Sisters, It has disturbed me greatly that a post on this Facebook page concerning interpretation of a passage in the B’rit Chadasha (New Testament) has given rise to attacks on individuals. This is not what Yeshua desires from us. As always, my teaching is to stir all who hear or see it to be provoked to search the Scriptures and let them guide us in our growing in faith and understanding, as Sha’ul (Paul) commended the Berean Jews in Acts chapter 17 for not just taking his word, but examining the Scriptures to see if what he said was in agreement with the context of the topic being spoken about. Keep in mind that to Sha’ul and the others whose accounts we read of in the B’rit Chadasha, Scriptures were the Torah and the rest of the Tanakh (Old Testament) as the B’rit Chadasha had not been written yet or compiled as a canon. If we are not challenged to prove our faith, then how do we learn or grow in Mashiach (Messiah). It is not the mission of myself or this Synagogue to tell anyone what to believe, but to encourage each of us to continue to study and understand how to live out our faith. Our Teacher instructs us to live by every word that comes from the mouth of יהוה (God). Yeshua says in Yochanan (John) chapter 5 that we don’t believe Him because (or if) we don’t believe Moshe (Moses). So, let’s not turn every disagreement we have with each other into an attack. Remember iron sharpens iron, so hopefully we will be more considerate of one another and pray for and uplift each other as we grow in understanding of our Father’s will. Shalom alechem, Rabbi Danny Palmer
