Brothers and Sisters, So in case you dont read the news, read Facebook, or have Voxer (which I encourage everyone to get, we have our own JCAS Voxer channel and unlike JCAS management, our local supports the idea of transparency and open communication) we have reached a tentative agreement with the County. So the next step is a vote by our membership on the agreement, and a vote by the County Board on the agreement. Their vote will take place on January 6th at 1800 at the Murphy Courthouse, obviously no matter what happens with our vote we will need people at that meeting. Our vote will take place this week, obviously it is hard for everyone to get to one place at one time to vote, so we decided to split this up as follows: on Tuesday December 30th we will be available from 7am till 11:30 at Murphy Base, then from 12(noon) till 1500 at Carbondale base, finally we will be having a meeting Wednesday night December 31 at approx 1900 in which you have a chance to vote then. If anyone cant make these times contact me as soon as possible and we can make appropriate arrangements. Moving forward we do have multiple options if this proposal gets voted down. On a side note the Executive Board has decided to switch our AFSCME Holiday bonus donations going to the Will KIlquist Fund instead of Food Banks, again this is only voluntary. If you choose to not donate we will get those checks out as soon as possible
