Bruce Haller Spiritual, Scriptural, and Supernatural Sound Mind Principles and Practices.” (article #29) “Mental dysfunction (Illness) can negatively affect the Believer” The high cost of suffering mental dysfunctions (illness) part one… Maturing in spiritual, scriptural, and supernatural growth and development through the Spirit can be hindered… As a victorious believer, which has already been emphasized we must walk after (Romans 8:1-17), in (Galatians 5:16-25), and by (Ephesians 5:14-18) the Spirit. However, when we do to mental dysfunction (illness) sin and yield to the deception and delusions of the Satan and the world we grieve, quench, and ignore the Spirit... Therefore, practice, by faith: Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. 1Thessaloians 5:19 Quench not the Spirit. Revelation 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. Such can only be consistently done by walking after (Romans 8:1-17), in (Galatians 5:16-25), and by (Ephesians 5:14-18) the Spirit. Missing God’s perfect sovereign will and wandering in the wilderness of His permissive will, even as Israel did, by not entering into, by faith, the promise land of Canaan at Kadesh (Numbers 13:1-14:39) can occur… Therefore, practice, by faith: Proverbs 3:5-6 (5) Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. (6) In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (The problem that I observe in my life and others is found in the middle of this spiritual equation, on how to have the LORD direct one’s path. Such is we tend to lean on our own understanding rather that trusting in the LORD with all our hearts and fail to acknowledge the LORD in all our ways; therefore, we lean on our own understanding in failure, as we wonder in the wilderness of life and ministry. Misinterpreting situations and circumstances that happen through satanic deception and delusion can occur and will hinder us… Therefore, practice, by faith: Ephesians 6:10-11 (10) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. (11) Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles (trickery) of the devil. It is only as we submit to God and resist the devil that he will flee from us (James 4:7); however, he is always looking for opportunity to get us to misinterpret situations and circumstances from his devilish perspective and not God’s. Mission or vision so call from God being an illusion can occur; God does give us mission or vision, but such must be accordance to the Scripture (truth) and through the guidance of the Spirit (influence)… Therefore, practice, by faith: John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. God does not want us to misinterpret God given mission or vision for without such being from God, we are doomed to fail; therefore, He has given us the absolute authority of the Scripture and the influences of the Spirit to guide us into all truth of what or what not God wants us perceive has God given mission or vision. Making a living through secular or religious work to meet the needs of life can be limited for numerous reasons, one reason for those who suffer with mental dysfunction (illness) there is the tendency not to be able to hold down a job or stay put in a ministry without always looking, because of the lust of the flesh, for greener grass and usually just finding the same old weeds and at times even new ones to deal with as they seek greener grass. I am not saying here that it is wrong to seek new employment or new ministry opportunity, but God must be trusted and acknowledged in such seeking, as well as in staying put and being content with where God has one in secular employment, as well as ministry until He moves one… Therefore, practice, by faith: Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (As we purpose to seek God with all our hearts, He seeks to keep us on tract doing that which acceptable to Him, as He meets all our needs of life.) Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation (manner of life) be without covetousness (The carnal desire to have, be, or do that which is not of God.); and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
