Bruno and Isabelle, French couple traveling around the world by bike since 2006 are staying on our inflatable mattress downstairs tonight with their bomber randonneur bikes locked on the back porch and multiple panniers lined up neatly against the foyer wall. They flew from Hanoi to NYC 2 weeks ago and picked their way up to the Finger Lakes on the start to the North American and South American leg to their journey. They plan to fly back to Paris from Rio in two years having finish 10 years on the bike through 75+ countries. Ill treat them to my homemade authentic crepes in the morn and give proof to the kids that French is not just a secret language that their parents use to torture them. They popped into county planning in the old courthouse around quitting time thinking it was a church. Instead they ran into a French speaking local bike advocate who lived abroad for 5 years. Happy to be replenishing some road karma tonight.
