Brushing It Off “Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.” 1 John 2:15 NLT There’s nothing quite like pet hair For clinging to your clothes. It will not simply brush away; And oh, how bad it shows! This world can be much like that: It clings with all it’s got! It won’t be simply brushed away; Won’t easily fall off. It sinks its deadly claws in, So you can’t pull away. Cuz Satan’s fighting for you, And wants your soul, today. He’ll use this old world system To grab hold of your heart, Draw you away from Jesus; And that’s just for a start. He’ll woo you and entice you. Then, once he’s pulled you in, He’ll make you feel like Jesus Won’t take you back again. But if this worldly system Has left its mark on you, And you want to be rid of it, There’s something you can do: Dive fully into God’s Word, And let it cleanse away The dirt and stain of this world; And make you new, today. There’s nothing else that scrubs a heart The way God’s Word can do. So open up your Bible, let God brush the world off you. “Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.” John 15:3
