Brutal. This upsets me so much. And the comments even more so. As I said before, a child saying they are a dinosaur and a child insisting they are a boy are very different things. A child will grow out of wanting to be a dinosaur. When did you know if you were a girl or a boy? Why cant Ryland know? Some people figure things out earlier than others. This isnt about liking boy things and boy toys, etc. This is about BEING a boy. And this child is old enough to know himself. I dont understand why it is wrong to let a child be themself, and be happy. Why should a CHILD be forced into DEPRESSION? Why is he considered too young to know who he is? What is the harm in usin What is the harm in using male pronouns to make a child more comfortable in his own skin? Do you want him to hate himself? And If Ryland later feels this is a mistake (Which trans* children very rarely do) he can go back to living as a girl. I could rant for hours on this. I just really hope the writer of this is not blessed with a trans* child. Emilie Smith
