Brynn came to us less than one week ago with some pretty intense dog aggression. Yesterday, after several days of prep work, we were able to introduce her to a group of dogs for the first time. Although she was still a little intense, and her energy was making some of the other dogs a bit uncomfortable, we were able to redirect her easily with light taps on a remote collar. When used correctly, with a proper foundation, the remote training collar can be one of the safest ways to communicate with a dog during socialization. Getting her used to this communication tool now, will give us great advantages when she is off leash, and we may need an effective means of getting her attention from a distance. Brynn is a rescue who for the majority of her life has lived in isolation from other dogs, tied up outside.
