Buck my wife got while we were tracking a doe she shot. He was laying 20yrds ahead of us in the woods, looking around. We knew there was something odd about him as he didnt even acknowledge our presence. She popped him in the neck, through and through. While gutting him I see a nasty week or so old head injury, he had broken G3, three broken ribs, liver was cool, and had a fair amount of internal trauma. Good thing was his internals were intact and he smelled fine. I honestly think we did him a favor, I dont think he would have survived the winter.
