Buddhism Buddhism does not require a belief in God. The Buddha - TopicsExpress

Buddhism Buddhism does not require a belief in God. The Buddha is not worshiped as a god, but idealized and revered as a human being who achieved awakening to the reality of the way things are. The entire thrust of the Buddhas teachings is that awakening can be achieved by anyone by following some basic teachings and practicing some basic techniques, such as meditation. Buddhism, for most westerners, does not conflict with other religions, and in fact, Buddhist teachings of kindness, tolerance, non-harming, and love are entirely in sync with other Judeo-Christian beliefs. Buddhism does not require one to subscribe to any belief system. It only requires the belief that you possess within you, your own Buddha nature. mvd
