Buddhist monks and mobs attack Unity Rally peace marchers. 28/07/2014 A rally for religious harmony that was held on the 26/07/2014 came under violent attacks by monks and Sinhalese mobs in the proximity of the Beruwala area.. The monks vehemently protested against any religious harmony rallies taking place and blocked the route of the religious harmony march. The monks and the mobs then attacked the peaceful marchers, including women who took part in the event, were physically attacked by monks and were injured. The local media has failed to report this event as of now. The following video clip has testimonies from the monks and the marchers that an attack did take place, and a female marcher who testifies that she was in fact physically attacked by monks.
