English translation on this post Follow along guys and lets see where the trip takes Bugge. If you see him in The Unit then please say hi and feel free to tell any of the Instructors if you see him not sweating enough :-) Cheers - The Team Unit-27 ----- The answer is no, as such, I can not remember that I have been more privileged with the things around me and what I do, than at present. And here I am thinking both on a personal level with an amazing family and friends, and not least on the professional level, where I have the pleasure of working with an enormous amount of super interesting people, let alone be allowed to poke its nose into the projects of dimensions I had not for years. The biggest challenge is actually to say no to so many interesting people, including their exciting ideas and projects - from trips to the worlds remote places off the beaten track, to exciting business-related projects, let alone run and events, trips and Expeditions that people need to. You name it. People who say that nothing happens in little Denmark, had to stop by either LUXURY office or house in Brønshøj - where my experience is that it is pouring into the good ideas from good people who dream of building things up and make things better. In short, people dare to dream beyond their own noses and want to work hard to see things happen. Not just hate and shoot down - people who, unfortunately, are also too many in our little kingdom. A physical kickstart Anyway - I have all been happy and busy, but find that one day I woke up and had taken some pounds since the good old days when I worked with good people traveled around the world and climbed the mountain tops, we could come near and lived for several years in the Alps, Norway and South America, yes - come generally very much out on tour. Instead I found myself in a place where I needed a physical kickstart. The many good intentions were eaten by a hectic schedule as an independent, and not least, a media production which is characterized by the constantly deadlines. Therefore, the idea arose also quickly about to leave on a trip, not to climb a traditional mountain, but to kick start my form again - come from the country somewhere with full focus. The question was just when one had to go? How good it is to go and train? When asked in my network, I must say that I was surprised at the amount of response to good places to go to train. The criterion has been that it would be an adventure in itself to take on the trip, but also that it should be a place where the menu was on functional training, like spicy with a local dimension. In fact, there came so many good suggestions in that I have promised myself to spend the next couple of years to visit many of these places. The many good suggestions in spite stood there in the end only 4 places on the list - all places where I could go and be a month this summer; 1) Military training camp in Kenya with kite surfing in the evening 2) Boxing in Cuba 3) Undendøres strength in Kiev (Ukraine) 4) Crossfit in Thailand Unit 27 All the places that I had been recommended by people. Places where the adventure and the good training could go hand in hand. Unit27 and Thailand The choice decrease of Thailand, and it really mostly because this could be done in the time I had, and it was easy to organize with the help of, among other Tourism Thailand and Unit27. Moreover, I knew that the gym Unit27 had before other old head with a similar background as me with loving care. This means that they could handle and guide me according to my needs, and I was nervous would be harder with a Cuban boxing trainer in Havana, let alone a coach with very poor English in Ukraine. When the choice fell on Phuket in Thailand, it is because it also appears that the city today is an epicenter of Thai boxing, martial arts and particularly functional training in general. A city with one of Asias most famous training centers, namely Soi Tad-Ied, a street where there is nothing but training and martial arts centers. A street which attracts people from all over the world, all looking the same, namely to train. Amidst all this, I had so been recommended gym Unit-27, specializing in functional training and crossfit. Unit27 is created by an Englishman named Rob Hallam from a dream to create one of the worlds most competent centers for crossfit and functional training. A project which, according to my crossfit sources should be managed well. Add to this that I also wanted to try out crossfit and functional training in a systematic way, even to get close to one of the most exciting trends, Mountain Athletic, and the choice seems obvious. So to take the best from crossfit and fix it against the physical capacity that I seek in my outdoor life. The next 4 weeks The question is whether the theoretically perfect match also happiness in reality. See it is I set off on tour to find out where I am in the next small four weeks to keep fit Unit 27s wings on your own body to see what such a stay can do for me (and perhaps others). A few times a week I will therefore update this blog for better or worse, with the inclusion of my experiences and reflections to work out in paradise, as they call it. Immediately, Im not disappointed, as I just landed, but it must continue next post provide the answer. Best regards, Bugge Editor in Chief, Outdoor Traning
